What to Expect

State-of-the-art fluoroscopy x-ray allows the physician to direct medication to the precise source of the pain with minimal side effects. Licensed CRNA's administer sedation to insure comfort during your procedure. The procedure only takes a few moments followed by a brief recovery and observation period. Your physician may recommend multiple treatment sessions to provide complete relief from the pain.

Exam Preparation

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will change into a hospital gown for your procedure. Please leave all jewelry and valuables at home. Do not eat or drink anything 6 hours prior to your appointment time, this includes chewing gum, mints and chewing tobacco.

On the day of your treatment, please take all of your usual medications with 1/4 cup of water unless specifically instructed otherwise.

NOTE: Consult your physician if you are taking any type of blood thinner or aspirin products.

Insurance Plans

Select Health Procedure Center accepts most insurance plans, letters of protection (LOP), and workers compensation, and we offer payment plans. We will also take care of filing all the necessary paperwork with your insurance provider. Please call us with any insurance questions.

 
 

Frequently Asked Questions


Will my procedure be painful?

Your procedure will be completed with minimal discomfort to you. Local anesthetics will be used to eliminate any pain from the procedure.


How long will my procedure take?

The procedure itself should take no longer than 30 minutes, but you will be required to remain in the comfortable recovery area for at least 30 additional minutes to allow the anesthesia to wear off. This also allows our highly trained nursing staff to observe you for any adverse affects from your procedure.

What should I wear?

There are no clothing requirements for your appointment, except to please not wear any jewelry. You will be changing into a comfortable gown for your procedure.


Can I drive myself home after the procedure?

Please arrange a driver to bring you and assist you at home after your treatment. You cannot drive an automobile or operate any type of equipment including household appliances for the afternoon and evening after treatment. If you do not have a driver, your appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled.


My doctor has referred me for a procedure, but I don't have an appointment.

Once Select receives your referral from your doctor's office, we will call you to schedule an appointment within 24 hours. If for some reason you miss our call, you may call us directly at 972-234-4740.

Will insurance cover the cost of my procedure?

Most likely, the cost of the procedure will be covered by your insurance, less your deductible. Be sure to bring your insurance card, and our helpful staff will take care of all the paperwork. Click here to see a list of accepted insurance plans.
